About Us

Lacuna Brewing was founded on a simple belief: beer should be uncomplicated, delicious, and brewed responsibly.

Lacuna was born in Penryn, Cornwall, rooted in a love of place, good beer, and doing things properly.

The name Lacuna means “a gap” or “a missing piece” and that idea runs through everything we do and is very close to our hearts. Our beers are designed to sit comfortably in life’s quieter moments - at the end of a long day, around a shared table, or mid-conversation. They’re beers made for drinking, not overthinking.

Our ethos is simple: simple beers done well and brewed with care.

From the outset, we focused on classic styles — lager, pale ale and IPA — beers that are approachable, balanced, and always worth a second pint. While we continue to explore new and exciting products, you can rely on Lacuna for clean modern beers that put flavour and drinkability first.

Sustainability has always been central to Lacuna. Everything we do is guided by a strong commitment to responsible brewing. We believe all businesses have a role to play in the journey toward a low-carbon economy and we’re actively working to reduce our environmental impact. We want you to enjoy our beer without worrying about the cost to the planet.

As the brewery grows, so does the story. Lacuna Brewing Co. is now relocating to a new home near Dorchester in Dorset, marking an exciting next chapter. The move gives us space to expand our range, develop new ideas, and deepen our connection with the landscape and communities around us — while carrying forward the same values, principles, and ethos that defined Lacuna from the very beginning.

We care about more than just beer, but we care a great deal about making it well.
